Service details

The simplest upgrade with the biggest daily effect

The filter cleans the air every time the system runs and protects the blower and coil from dust. ENERGY STAR recommends inspecting, cleaning or changing filters once a month and warns that a dirty filter can raise energy costs and damage equipment.

The scope

  • Replacement — the correct size and type fitted to your system.
  • Fit — checking the filter slot and frame so air cannot bypass the filter.
  • Upgrades — washable electrostatic or higher-efficiency filters, where your system can handle them.
Higher-efficiency filters can restrict airflow on some systems; we check before upgrading.

Before you ask for an estimate

  1. Know your size

The size is printed on the edge of the current filter. A photo helps.

  2. What do you want to improve?

Pets, dust or allergies each point to different filter options.

Questions

Straight answers about air filters

How often should I change my filter?

ENERGY STAR recommends checking, cleaning or changing it once a month, especially during heavy use.

Is a higher-rated filter always better?

Not for every system. Very restrictive filters can reduce airflow, so the filter should suit your equipment.

How do I clean a washable electrostatic filter?

Flush it with water against the airflow arrows, rinse the other side, let it dry completely and reinstall it.

Does the filter direction matter?

Yes. Install it with the arrows pointing toward the equipment, in the direction of airflow.
